Abstract

The present study examines Value and Knowledge Education (VaKE) as an integrated pedagogical approach that combines cognitive learning with systematic value formation. In the context of contemporary educational transformation, the role of schools has expanded beyond the transmission of academic knowledge and increasingly focuses on the holistic development of learners, including ethical awareness, social responsibility, and critical thinking skills. VaKE represents a modern educational framework that links knowledge acquisition with value-based reflection, enabling students to analyze real-life situations, evaluate ethical dilemmas, and develop reasoned judgments. The study explores the theoretical foundations of VaKE, its pedagogical significance, and its contribution to learners’ cognitive, social, and moral development. Special attention is given to the methods used in VaKE implementation, including discussion-based learning, project-based learning, role-playing, reflection activities, and non-formal education approaches. The research highlights that value education enhances not only academic performance but also teamwork, independent learning, problem-solving abilities, and civic engagement. The paper concludes that VaKE is a crucial educational model for the twenty-first century, as it fosters the development of responsible, empathetic, and critically thinking individuals capable of active participation in society
